Study

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:7

Our Lutheran Day School has as its motto, the above Proverb.  Not only is Redeemer Lutheran School the best way to ensure that your child learns and studies the word of God, it is the best academic foundation you could give them!

Christian Education is one of Redeemer Lutheran Church’s primary missions.  In fact, it is so important that Redeemer Lutheran School warrants its own website.

Confirmation

Confirmation classes are provided to students enrolled in our school. Luther’s Small Catechism is taught to students in the 7th Grade.

This includes instruction in the six chief articles of the Christian Faith as taught by the Small Catechism:  The Ten Commandments, The Apostles’ Creed, The Lord’s Prayer, Baptism, The Lord’s Supper, and The Office of the Keys (Confession and Absolution – Forgiveness of Sins).  Upon successful completion of the material, and after examination, these Junior Confirmation Students are eligible to receive the Rite of Confirmation and join our church as full members.  Classes are also offered at various times for Jr. Confirmation students in the 7th and 8th grades who attend public schools, other schools, or who are home schooled.  These are scheduled on an “as needed” basis and usually conducted beginning in the Fall and concluding in late Spring.

Adult Confirmation classes are also offered at various times throughout the year, covering the same material from Luther’s Small Catechism.  Adult Confirmation classes usually run from 10-12 weeks, and are open to anyone and can lead to Adult Confirmation in the Lutheran Faith and full active membership in our church communion.

Vacation Bible School

VBS is held on weekday evenings during a week in either June or July. We had a GREAT TIME exploring "The Great Jungle Journey: An Epic Cruise from Genesis to Revelation" this past June! This is a great opportunity for your children (those entering 1st grade thru the 5th grade) to learn and grow in God's Word through songs, praise, fun and faith building activities, and Christian fellowship.  Check back later for when VBS will be offered here in the Summer of 2025!

Register your kids for our VBS program.

Book of Concord Study

The Book of Concord is basically the book of Lutheran confessions.  It contains the writings of Martin Luther which address the theological errors of the Church in Martin’s day.  The practices that Papal Rome foisted upon the people were so egregious that Dr. Martin Luther challenged those teachings, using the Bible itself as his defense, sparking the Reformation!  The book contains the three Ecumenical Creeds: the Apostle’s Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed (and discussions on their meanings & applications); the Augsburg Confession; the Apology (defense) of the Augsburg Confession; the Small and Large Catechisms; the Smalcald Articles, the Treatise On The Power And Primacy Of The Pope; and the Formula of Concord.

Each month, the men of Redeemer and Immanuel Lutheran Churches meet at one of the churches to read and discuss a selected portion of the Book of Concord.  Pastors from each church lead the study and guide the lively discussions that stem from the material.  The two congregations often take turns hosting the study on the second Saturday of each month at 10:00am.  The study ends at 12:00pm and then the men adjourn to a local restaurant for lunch and fellowship.  Call or contact the church office to find out whose turn it is to host this upcoming second Saturday.  (Study is usually suspended during December, due to the busy Advent Season.)

LLL Monthly Gathering

Redeemer Lutheran Church Men's Group

The Men’s Group has as its objective providing a means for the men of the congregation to work together in fellowship to grow spiritually and to support the goals of Redeemer Lutheran Church and School.

The Men’s Group is open to all Christian men over 18 years of age and we welcome visitors to our regularly scheduled activities.

We are affiliated with the Lutheran Hour Ministries of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and have a charter as part of the Lutheran Laymen’s League, which has since been included within the Lutheran Hours Ministries structure.  The Men’s Group is registered as part of the MEN’S NETWORK

Each First Saturday of the month, the Men’s Group has held a breakfast meeting at the Church, beginning at 8:00 AM for conduct of business and a bible study, usually with DVD video presentation and guidance from the MEN’S NETWORK.

OUR BREAKFAST MEETING HAS BEEN PUT ON HOLD FOR THE TIME BEING, BUT WE PLAN TO REVIVE IT SOON - Check with us for our rescheduling of it!

We support the Lutheran Hour Ministries goal:

“BRINGING CHRIST TO THE NATIONS AND THE NATIONS TO CHRIST”

Men's Bible Breakfast

Who:  Anybody interested in eating, fellowship and reading the Word.  Call Bob Heinicke or contact the church office.

What:  Coffee & conversation; place orders; eat; read & study a select chapter of a Book from the Bible; discussion.

When & Where:  Every Wednesday, 6:30-8:00am at Denny's on Mobile Highway (across from Wal-Mart, next door to Waffle House).

Why:  God's Word nourishes our souls, just as the fruits of his bounty and goodly fellowship nourish our bodies.  Sometimes - no, all the time - we enter into lively discussions of current events and more.

How:  That is up to you!  Drive, carpool, ride a bike, walk, run or crawl but don’t miss the blessing you’ll receive by participating!

We've been at it nearly a dozen years.  During this time God has recalled several of the original group.  But it's conceivable that sooner than later we will have read the entire Bible together here at Men’s Bible Breakfast.  Won’t you come join us?

Ladies Bible Study

The Ladies Tuesday Morning Bible Study meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 9:30 a.m. in our Assembly Hall, and sometimes at our Meeting House.  We use a variety of topics for our studies.  Some studies are based on topics that will give women insight into God's Holy Word.  Others are based on helping women grow in faith and being ready to go out to spread the Good News that we have in Jesus.  We invite all ladies to consider joining us for our Tuesday study. Contact Karla Heinicke or Melanie Cole for further information.
